About Princess Wencheng Temple
Its central Vairocana figure and accompanying Buddhist reliefs make the rock itself part of the shrine. Inscriptions around the hall add another layer to the visit. Local traditions associate the place with Princess Wencheng’s journey to Tibet; approach those stories as part of the temple’s religious and cultural memory.
What to look for
- The cliff-side hall shelters Buddhist rock reliefs.
- Carved inscriptions surround the shrine in the valley setting.
