Copyright & reuse

This notice explains how original China Revealed material and credited third-party material may be used. Different works on the same page can have different rights and licences.

Original content and brand

Original China Revealed articles, editorial layouts and branding are published under the China Revealed name. Please request permission before republishing substantial original content or using our logo in a way that suggests a partnership. Linking to a page and crediting its source is welcome.

Credited photographs, maps and adapted text

Third-party works remain subject to the rights and licence shown beside the material, in its source notice or on the Photo & map credits page. A China Revealed copyright notice does not replace those terms. Check the original source, author, licence and adaptation notice before reusing a particular work.

Openly licensed material

Where material is identified as Creative Commons or another open licence, follow that specific licence. This can include attribution, a link to the licence, an indication of changes and, for ShareAlike adaptations, distribution under the required licence. No additional restriction in this notice overrides permissions already granted by that licence.

Corrections and rights queries

For a rights query, identify the page and specific work, the original source, your relationship to it and the correction requested. Please do not include identity documents or payment information. We can assess a concern more accurately when the relevant work and source are clearly identified.

Software, fonts and map data

The website uses open-source software (React, Leaflet and Tabler Icons), the Roboto typeface under the SIL Open Font License, OpenStreetMap map data under the Open Database License and MET Norway weather data. Their licence texts and required notices are published in the third-party notices file at /third-party-notices.txt.
