About Shanghai Tower Observatory
The Shanghai Tower Observatory is a visitor attraction inside the 632-metre skyscraper in Lujiazui, Pudong. The main Top of Shanghai observatory occupies the 118th floor, at about 546 metres above ground. It offers an elevated view of Shanghai's river and built-up districts rather than access to every part of the tower.
From this height the useful subject is the city's layout: the curve of the Huangpu, the concentration of towers around Lujiazui and the lower urban fabric beyond. The building contains offices, hospitality and other visitor products, so the floor or experience named on a ticket matters. The separately described SKY632 damper presentation is not the same product as the main observation level.
Choose a visit around the view you want, while allowing for haze, cloud and reflections in the glass. Clearer visibility can matter more than a fashionable time slot. Once inside, move around the viewing level and compare different directions; the changing relationship between the river and the city is more informative than a single skyline photograph.
What to look for
- The Huangpu River and surrounding city from the 118th-floor observatory.
- Lujiazui’s concentration of skyscrapers seen from above.
- The distinction between the main observatory and separately offered tower experiences.
