About Laoshan National Forest Park
The Zhenqi Line forest trail passes through old Chinese wingnut groves and bamboo within the wider park. A 2023 upgrade retained the old trees and used local stone, bamboo and timber in the repairs, bringing a maintained walking route into established woodland.
Stone steps and resting pavilions punctuate the trail, and viewpoints look towards the surrounding Laoshan peaks. In late autumn, yellow wingnut leaves and red Chinese tallow foliage add contrasting colours to the forest.
