About Mount Xiangshan

Taohua Ravine descends the northern slope: steep, irregular rock formations in its upper reaches give way to a broader, gentler valley below. Caixiang Path lies on the southwest slope, while Xiangshan Lake and the plum groves add water and planting to the hill scenery.

Meihua Hall preserves a historic place-name associated with Xu Xiake's visits, but reconstruction of the present building began in 2004 and the hall opened in 2005. Its history therefore includes both the earlier literary associations of the hill and modern reconstruction.

What to look for

  • The changing rock and valley forms of Taohua Ravine.
