About Yingjiang Temple and Zhenfeng Pagoda
The pagoda dates to 1570 and was formerly called Wanfo, or Ten Thousand Buddhas; its later name, Zhenfeng, expressed an ambition to encourage literary learning. Its seven storeys are built in brick and stone, with octagonal architectural details and Buddhist relief imagery. The tall pagoda and the lower temple buildings together form a longstanding landmark of Anqing's riverfront.
