About Yulu Grand Fissure
The Yunnan provincial commerce department describes the fissure as one of Huize tourism's three leading attractions, lying 60 kilometres south-east of the county town, and made up of named rock features including Stone Monkey, the Great Thinker, the Gate of Life, Golden Buddha Cave and Sleeping Beauty. The scenic area holds 58 natural and cultural landscape features in total, of which 55 have been rated as excellent-grade tourism resources.
A People's Daily report on a 2026 trail race through the fissure describes runners following the scenic area's established walkway from the visitor centre at the fissure's mouth to Xiaotiechang in Yulu village, passing gorge and rock-wall scenery, through a narrow slot known as 'a sliver of sky' and across a boardwalk beside a mountain stream.
