The ministry's feature gives the lake as 70 kilometres long, 20 kilometres wide and reaching 230 metres deep, with 180 rivers and streams of various sizes flowing into it, and calls it one of Tibet's three well-known yumtso lakes. Bon scripture records the lake as the incarnation of Comei Lieji Wangmu. The same feature sets it in a wider Bon landscape: it names the sacred Dagou Snow Mountain (达果雪山) as a typical territorial marker of Middle Zhangzhung culture, and in its list of sites describes Dargo Snow Mountain (达尔果雪山) as held sacred by Bon believers, as one of the sacred mountains of the ancient Zhangzhung tribe and as one of the four great snow mountains of the Tibetan area, ringed by seven peaks called the Seven Armies of Warriors and by eight further snow mountains beyond them. The feature also lists the Qiongzong site of the ancient Zhangzhung kingdom, a Middle Zhangzhung ancient city site, Bon culture and temples, and the Jialin rock art depicting the life and work of the Zhangzhung forebears, among others.

Wenbu South Village stands on the lake shore, 123 kilometres to the south-west of the Nyima county town; the feature describes it as a place on the cold, thin-aired Changtang grassland where people farm good land between field and lake, and where buildings combining Zhangzhung and Tubo forms are seen throughout. Wenbu Temple, in full Yongzhong Sangdanlin (雍忠桑丹林寺), is in the same village, 140 kilometres from the county town; the feature dates its building to 1650 under the direction of the lama Luozhu Yongzhong Danba and assigns it to the Bon school. In 2019 the Wenbu community was named among the first national key rural tourism villages.

The catalogue entry is an editorial label for an official roadside viewpoint, and no cited source designates one. What the sources record instead is this. Tibet Daily, reporting what the Nyima County Culture and Tourism Bureau told it, states that seven viewing platforms and three scenic-area gates have been built around the lake under the scenic area's circuit-tourism projects; it does not name them, locate them, say which stand beside a road, or say which are open. A Xinhua photo report published on 25 December 2023 shows a boardwalk and viewing platform at Jisong village in Jiagu Township just completed, and another boardwalk and platform beside the lake about to be completed, both photographed on 20 December; that report likewise records no designation. The county has said it will carry out a project to create a 5A-grade scenic area during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, so the 4A grade is the one that stands.
