About Heping Island Park
Heping Island Park presents an eroded coastal landscape on an island connected to Keelung by Heping Bridge. Wind and waves have shaped the rock surfaces into varied forms, making the shore's texture and structure central to the visit.
The managed park combines visitor paths, information facilities and designated water-recreation areas. These serve different purposes: a route for viewing rocks does not automatically provide access for swimming, while an open visitor centre does not mean every shoreline section is accessible.
Compare rock shapes from the marked viewpoints and notice how the appearance changes with light and water level. The wider island also has a long settlement history, but the park should not be treated as a single archaeological monument or confused with every historic site elsewhere on Heping Island.
What to look for
- Rock formations shaped by repeated marine erosion.
- Marked coastal paths and viewpoints within the park.
- A visitor centre and separately managed water-recreation spaces.
