About Jiuzi Ancient Town
Macrolink began the project in 2013. White walls, dark roof tiles, horse-head gables, courtyards and covered corridors give its streets a Huizhou character, with brick, wood and stone carving providing much of the detail. The development uses this architectural language to present the culture of Huizhou merchants.
Zhongjiang Academy was rebuilt beside the river as a modern cultural center. Other distinct features include Liyuan Hall, an ancestral-hall-style theatre, and a museum devoted to Wuhu iron painting, in which wrought iron forms pictures. These spaces give the town a focus on architecture and local craft as well as its riverside setting.
