About Wuhu Ancient City
The old core lies within the area enclosed by Huancheng North Road, Huancheng East Road, Yanhe Road and Jiuhua Middle Road. Its history brings together government, education, religion and commerce, reflecting Wuhu's role in water and land transport. Nearby lanes such as Rulin Street carry this urban history at a smaller scale.
At the Shizi Street crossroads, the City God Temple is a modern reconstruction based on the arrangement of its Ming and Qing predecessors. Its main buildings were complete by January 2024. The temple and the surrounding streets show how the district combines historic urban structure with newly rebuilt architectural landmarks.
