About Chunwan Stone Forest

The stone forest covers more than 200 mu. The rock forms the Yangchun municipal portal names on its hills include Matou (Horse Head) Peak, Luotuo (Camel) Peak, Lianpeng Peak, the Gecko Rock, the Guanyin Worshipping the Moon rock, the Immortal Crossing the Pass rock and Baiye Jianmen, the Hundred-Leaf Sword Gate, through which visitors enter the forest of peaks. A later municipal item counts six rock hills in the group, among them Baiye Jianmen and Matou Peak, and singles out Baiye Jianmen as the most striking of them, sheer and steep. In 2022 the provincial departments of agriculture and rural affairs and of culture and tourism named Chunwan town a provincial demonstration town for leisure agriculture and rural tourism for 2021.

The wider Chunwan Scenic Area holds Longgong Cave, a gallery-type solution cave whose formations are grouped into four named sections — the greeting corridor, the Dragon King's hall, the treasure store and the Dragon Mother's pavilion — together with Jianfeng Hill, a glass walkway, a peach grove and a lavender field, among other features. More than 50 mu of peach trees flower below peaks of karst landform at the stone forest, and an annual Chunwan Stone Forest peach-blossom festival is held there. In the Chunbei landscape-gallery area on the upper Moyang River, a greenway about 10 kilometres long links the stone forest with Tongtian Lazhu, the Liu Sanjie song terrace, the Nawu old bridge, and the Yuxi Three Caves and Lingxiao Rock in neighbouring Heliao town.
