About Talent Park

Talent Park (人才公园), in full Shenzhen Talent Park, is a waterfront city park in Yuehai Subdistrict (粤海街道), Nanshan District, Shenzhen, where it connects with Shenzhen Bay Park (深圳湾公园) close to the shore of Shenzhen Bay. It is described as the first theme park in China named after 'talent'.

The park grew out of 2016 city measures to put talent first, and Shenzhen's Party committee and government resolved to give the theme its own high-quality city park. Work began in April 2017 and the gates opened that 1 November, the first Shenzhen Talent Day. It covers about 770,000 square metres, some 300,000 of them water, and lies between Keyuan South Road (科苑南路) and Shahe West Road (沙河西路), north of Dongbin Road (东滨路). It sits beside the Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters Base and looks across to China Resources Tower (中国华润大厦), known as the Spring Bamboo, the Shenzhen Bay Sports Center, Shenzhen Bay Cultural Plaza and the Shenzhen Bay One towers.

Around an inner lake lie a flower forest, reed beds and a quiet river valley, and the park is known across Nanshan for its flowers; its closeness to Shenzhen Bay draws egrets and other seabirds. The talent theme is spelled out in named features: a Talent Merit Wall, a sculpture garden, the Pi Bridge and the Formula Corridor. The two main buildings are Qiuxian Pavilion (求贤阁), the conference centre with a lecture hall for academicians, a talent-themed book bar and cafe, and Qunying Hui (群英荟), an activity centre with a maker space, a gym and a talent experience hall.
