About Duqiao Mountain

The scenic area covers 37 square kilometres and the county names eight principal summits on it: Zhongfeng, Yungaifeng, Badiefeng, Ma'anfeng, Douzifeng, Xianglufeng, Xianrenfeng and Danzaofeng. The name comes from the phrase rui er gao jia yi du. The mountain is riddled with cavities: the county counts more than three hundred rock caverns of varying size, holding over a thousand cavern chambers and wells. The mountain is not high, and the autonomous region's Radio and Television Administration reckons the summit about an hour's climb; a stone-stepped path leads in from the main gate past thousand-year-old vines, tree ferns and red maple woods.

Taoist, Buddhist and Confucian establishments shared the mountain, which the county says reached a peak of nine temples and thirteen abbeys. Doujiaoshan was in the first batch of scenic areas designated at autonomous-region level and has since been made an autonomous-region geopark, a national AAAA-grade tourist scenic area, an autonomous-region ecotourism demonstration area and one of Guangxi's first regional study-practice education bases for schoolchildren; the culture and tourism department carried it at 4A in its register compiled to the end of 2021. Development in recent years, run by the county with Yulin Transport and Tourism Investment, completed the Baihetang and Qingshouyan sectors, and the county lists climbing plankways, a cycle path and rest pavilions among the facilities put in.

What to look for

Getting to Duqiao Mountain

Use an authorised visitor route. Cave sections, geological sites and access roads can close independently, so confirm the area that your ticket covers.
