About Lianhua Mountain
A 2019 China Daily item, describing the site under its former name, records that Lianhua Shan's peaks rise densely and that the whole mountain resembles an unopened lotus flower, calling it a rare example of quartz-sandstone peak-forest landform in a largely undisturbed natural state, with deep ravines and steep rock faces; that year Jinxiu county, where the mountain lies, was named one of the first national all-region tourism demonstration zones, and Lianhua Shan was then a national AAAA-grade scenic area.
A China Daily Guangxi bureau report and a Xinhuanet Guangxi report both record that the site was rebuilt and reopened on 1 January 2025 as the Dayaoshan Panwangjie scenic area, on the finest stretch of the Dayao mountain range, where primeval forest, natural stone forest and Yao villages set each other off. Total investment exceeded 1.2 billion yuan, of which the phase-one upgrade cost 980 million yuan and built a 1,650-metre cableway, a cliff-face observation elevator and an 8.5-kilometre cliff-hugging walkway giving barrier-free access throughout the site; on opening day the China Tourism Scenic Area Association named it a national demonstration mountain scenic area for barrier-free access. The China Daily Guangxi report describes it as Guangxi's first barrier-free mountain scenic area.
What to look for

- The 8.5-kilometre cliff-hugging walkway built in the phase-one rebuild that preceded the January 2025 reopening, giving barrier-free access along the cliff face
- The 1,650-metre cableway and the cliff-face observation elevator, both part of the phase-one upgrade
