About Yiling Cave
The cave holds eight named scenic points, among them Shuangshi Yingke (Twin Lions Welcoming Guests), Kongzhong Zoulang (Aerial Corridor), Haidi Shijie (Undersea World), Beiguo Fengguang (Northern Scenery), Yaochi Shenghui (Jade Pool Gathering), Jiangshan Duojiao (Enchanting Landscape) and Hongshuihe Pan (Bank of the Red River). Its stalactites, stalagmites, columns, mounds and rock curtains take varied forms that the tourism bureau likens to a dancing phoenix, a coiled python, racing tortoises, a brooding hen, playing pandas and a descending fairy, lit by coloured lighting. Notable past visitors include Vietnamese prime minister Phan Van Khai, who was photographed there, a grandson of Mao Zedong, who left an inscription, and the poet Guo Moruo, who wrote a poem there; the site has been named a National Patriotic Education Base and a Guangxi Cultural Industry Demonstration Base.
Outside the cave, the Zhuang Culture Grand View Garden displays farming tools, stoneware and patterned homespun Zhuang clothing amid shaded paths, with bamboo-pole tapping and folk singing.
