About Guanshanhu Park

China News Service gives the park as about 5,000 mu, of which 4,160 mu are forest and more than 700 mu water, holding 78 species of wild bird and 675 species of plant. Construction began in 2008 as a project costing 1.258 billion yuan, built on the former site of the Jinhua farm and around the Guanshan reservoir, and the park opened to the public in 2010. An upgrade followed in 2013: a four-season flower sea and an ecological wetland garden were newly built, and the penjing garden and the children's playground were among four themed areas remodelled, with service buildings, signs, seating and a gateball court added; the park entrance and the water environment were reworked later.

The park has seven gates, upgraded in turn between 2018 and 2020, of which the Zizhu and Jinzhu gates had been finished at the time of the report. The Zizhu gate is the main entrance, set on stone with a welcoming pine, a paved plaza, fountains and planting, a Taishan stone in front of it and purple bamboo around it. Beside Jinhua Lake is Congbi Yuan, a garden within the park, divided by the Bamian stream into a lower front garden and an upper rear garden; the front garden is broken into small compartments by the stream, stone bridges and paths and holds rockeries and several pavilions, while the rear garden has many pear trees that flower in March and April. The deputy head of the district parks administration describes the overall landscape framework as one bridge, two lakes, three causeways, six bays and nine peak ridges, with an internal structure of one core route, five sight corridors and fifteen key nodes.
