About Shenquan Valley

The resort's core feature is a tidal spring: when it rises, water wells up from the spring mouth in a pattern the prefecture's tourism directory likens to silver flowers opening or pearls rolling out, with small fish stirring among it. Each rise and fall lasts 5 to 10 minutes, with a maximum flow above 100 litres a second, and the spring rises and falls at unpredictable times through the year, sometimes seven or eight times a day and sometimes only two or three, continuing year-round without a fixed pattern. The resort also takes in a tidal-spring wetland park, the Shenquan Lodge, a painters' village, a wedding-events plaza, a water park and a western-exit wetland park.

The other cited accounts describe the area's waterfalls and its seasonal flowering. A China News Service Guizhou-branch report counts three waterfalls in the resort, each with scenery of its own, and calls Qingjian waterfall the most striking of them: the water pours down off the cliff and throws up spray where it strikes the rock, with dense green woods on both banks. The same report places hydrangea, roses and sage flowering in swathes among ten li of karst peak forest. A Guizhou Radio and Television feature supplied by the Changshun county media convergence centre describes lotus coming into bloom with tall weeping willows along the bank, and gives mid-June to August as the season at the resort's huoxinghua (火星花) viewing area, where the flowers run bright orange-red, set off by sunlight and a stream, with farmhouses of dark tiles and white walls built against the hillside around them. A People's Daily Online report on the 2026 May Day holiday found sage, roses and hydrangeas in bloom along a flower-lined path.
