About Bianque Temple

Bianque Temple near Shentou Village in Neiqiu County is a commemorative religious complex dedicated to the physician Bian Que. It stands below Que Mountain west of the county town. The site is valuable for understanding the historical memory of medicine through architecture, inscriptions and local traditions.

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism identifies structures including Huisheng Bridge, the entrance gate, Bianque Hall, Houtu Hall and Jade Emperor Hall. Their arrangement combines the physician’s commemoration with a wider religious setting. The approach and courtyard sequence offer a practical way to read those different functions during a visit.

Old inscriptions preserve accounts of repair and patronage, including a prominent Yuan-period stele often called the Touling Stele.
