About Bailihuang Grassland
The city government presents Bailihuang as the distinctive alpine grassland of the Three Gorges region: rounded hills rise from the plateau, and some 10,000 mu of open grass, grazed by cattle and sheep, is broken by gorges. Summer temperatures average around 26 degrees, which is the basis of its role as a summer retreat, and the site also carries a national water conservancy scenic area designation.
Beyond the grass itself the profile singles out a stand of roughly 1,000 mu of Chinese white pine on the heights, a solitary tree that became known as the 'love tree' after director Zhang Yimou filmed on the plateau, and the rows of large wind turbines that now form part of the skyline. The area is promoted for seasonal contrasts of spring flowers, cool summer grass, autumn leaves and winter snow.

- The solitary 'love tree' associated with Zhang Yimou's filming on the grassland.
- The wind farm whose large turbines stand in rows across the plateau.
