About Xiaozhuang Park
The earlier palace had been destroyed, and reconstruction on its site began in 2008. The present ensemble recreates a formal residence with a central ceremonial axis, flanking compounds and domestic rooms behind the main halls. Mature elms around and within the grounds give the planned courtyards a wooded setting.
The central route passes through successive courtyards containing the palace gates, administrative rooms, Yin'an Hall and rear residential halls. The western route includes the former administrative compound used for the Gada Meiren Memorial Hall. These different areas connect the palace setting with both Qing aristocratic life and later Horqin history.
