About Confucius Temple and Qinhuai River Scenic Area
The temple complex forms the area's centre, while the inner Qinhuai provides its east–west axis between Dongshuiguan and Xishuiguan, now Shuiximen. This is the waterway traditionally called the 'Ten-Li Qinhuai', with gardens, residences, schools and shops forming a dense urban landscape around it.
The Confucius Temple and nearby Jiangnan Gongyuan connect the district with learning and the imperial examination system. Places such as Wuyi Lane add another layer of literary and residential memory, while the riverfront shows how cultural landmarks and commercial life share the same stretch of old Nanjing.
