About Huishan Ancient Town and Jichang Garden
Huishan Bang carries the canal connection into the old town, where shrine buildings commemorate both families and historical figures. Water transport helped bring in their building materials, tying this concentration of heritage architecture to Wuxi's wider canal history.
Jichang Garden began as Qin Jin's retreat in the Ming period and has undergone later rebuilding and restoration. Its rockery continues the visual line of Huishan's eastern slope. Bayinjian channels water from an underground branch of the Second Spring, while pavilions, corridors and bridges frame the Jinhuiyi pond; hills and water organise the garden as a whole.
