About Tianping Mountain
The grove on the southern slopes was planted by Fan Zhongyan's descendant Fan Yunlin during the Ming dynasty. Its autumn color forms part of a landscape that also commemorates the family's charitable tradition: the southern entrance's white-stone arch carries the Qianlong emperor's Gaoyi Yuan inscription.
Baiyun Spring emerges from fissures in the rock. Poems by Bai Juyi and Fan Zhongyan gave it a literary identity, while carved inscriptions and an image commemorating Bai Juyi mark the surrounding stone.
