About Likeng Village
The scenic area covers about one square kilometre in the east of the county. Its character comes from Ming and Qing merchant dwellings packed along the water, together with old bridges, pavilions and trees. The stream is the organising element: several stone-slab bridges span it, and the whitewashed walls and dark tiles of the houses are reflected in the clear water. The county names the Shenming street pavilion, a water mill and the Jiaoquan spring among the village's features.
Likeng was rated a national 4A tourist area in March 2010 and listed as a Chinese Traditional Village in August 2013. At the end of 2019 the county gazetteer recorded fourteen tourist areas in Wuyuan rated national 4A or above, and Wuyuan itself had been rated a national 3A area as a whole in 2001 under the name Wuyuan Culture and Ecology Tourism Zone.
