About Hongye Valley in Jiaohe
Hongye Valley is a forested valley around Jiefang Village in Qingling Town, Jiaohe. It lies in the Laoyeling mountain landscape between the Qingling waterfall area and Songhua Lake. Autumn foliage is its best-known feature, but the setting also includes streams, woodland edges, fields and villages.
The provincial local-history account describes a valley corridor shaped in part by former forestry access. That makes the landscape broader than a single enclosed garden or a short ornamental trail. Mixed woodland, including pale birch trunks among changing leaves, creates contrasts of colour and texture, while nearby farmland adds another seasonal pattern.
Read the valley as a sequence: a wooded slope, an opening near a stream, then a more cultivated stretch around a settlement. This gives a fuller impression than looking only for a single red-leaf viewpoint. The timing and intensity of colour depend on the season’s weather, and photographs from one year do not establish a guaranteed viewing date for another.
