About Tanghe Scenic Area

The reservoir is a working piece of regional infrastructure as well as a scenic body of water. It helps control floods and supplies industry and drinking water in Liaoyang and Anshan, making water protection central to the landscape's identity.

Around Tanghe Town, tourism grew from small bathhouses into a wider network of hot-spring resorts, rural guesthouses and local fish cuisine. The combination of reservoir scenery, hilly countryside and bathing culture gives the area its character. Reservoir protection zones have their own boundaries, so shore and water access must follow the locally permitted areas.
