About Tongling Fenghuang Mountain
Hengshan and Mianshan are among the hills that make up Fenghuangshan. In the surrounding village, Fengdan is a traditional medicinal peony crop, bringing flowers to the landscape in spring. The Jinniudong ancient copper-mining site is also in the village, giving the area a direct connection with Tongling’s long mining history.
Copper extraction left damaged slopes and tailings, and ecological restoration has reshaped parts of this terrain since 2019. Natural features include Dishui Cliff and the Xiangsi Trees, two wingnut trees that meet above a stream. Together, the cultivated flowers, mining remains and wooded hill features explain the area’s varied character.
A municipal notice dated 10 August 2026 included Fenghuangshan in temporary storm closures. Check a later reopening announcement and current site notices before planning entry.
