About Jiangcun Village
The main Jiang ancestral hall combines three successive sections with two light wells and carvings in brick, wood and stone. Repaired in 2020, it represents the clan's shared ceremonial architecture. On the old street, two stone archways commemorate the scholar-official Jiang Han and his son Jiang Wenmin.
Anran Villa offers a different chapter. Built in 1927 for Jiang Shaojie, it dispenses with the internal light well typical of many neighbouring historic houses. Brick-carved lions at its entrance and detailed wooden supports distinguish this later residence.
What to look for
- The Jiang ancestral hall's light wells and brick, wood and stone carvings.
- The father-and-son scholar archways on the old street.
- Anran Villa's entrance carvings and unusual layout without an internal light well.
