About Lucun Village
The village stands on the old Ningchi route in Hongcun Town. Lu Bangxie built Zhicheng Hall during the Qing dynasty's Daoguang reign. Its entrance uses both stone and brick carving, while the main hall concentrates much of its decoration on wooden door panels around the courtyard.
The carvings range from historical and literary figures to scenes of local Lantern Festival life. Couplet inscriptions express household maxims and expectations for descendants, linking the house's decorative richness with the Lu family's traditions of instruction.
