About Yangtze River Cableway
The cableway went into formal operation on 24 October 1987, and the municipal page records more than thirty years of safe operation since; its span is given as 1,166 metres. It is designated a national AAAA-grade tourist attraction and a Chongqing urban aerial-sightseeing scenic area, and separately carries municipal cultural-relic status: the Yuzhong District government's own heritage register enters it in the second batch of Chongqing municipal cultural relics, dated 2009, classed among 'important modern historic sites and representative buildings', and enters the Chongqing Cableway Company in the table's 使用单位 (using unit) column.
In a maintenance programme lasting six months a technical team inspected the running machinery and the electrical and safety-protection equipment, replaced the No. 1 cabin and the carrying cable, and passed the full acceptance inspection of the National Passenger Aerial Ropeway Safety Supervision and Inspection Centre; the cableway resumed operation on 9 January 2023.
