Hongchiba 红池坝

Hongchiba spreads across high ground in western Wuxi, where open pasture, flower fields and wooded slopes form a landscape quite separate from the Yangtze river towns.

About Hongchiba

Tianzicheng grassland emphasises the broad plateau, while Xiliuxi adds a wetter valley setting. Seasonal flowers and autumn woodland colour change the emphasis of a visit; winter conditions can alter access. Plan selected scenic sections with road transfers, leaving time to experience the exposed highland rather than trying to cover the entire protected area.

  • Tianzicheng grassland: broad high-altitude pasture within the mountain landscape.
  • Xiliuxi wetland and valley: a contrasting waterside section of the scenic area.

Location & getting there

Getting to Hongchiba

The documented mountain approach follows the road from Hujia Pass in Wenfeng town towards Hongchiba. Arrange transport to the actual scenic entrance and onward sections; the S10 Hongchiba motorway service area is still about 50 kilometres from the forest park.

General visit reminders

Allow room for the terrain and weather when choosing your route. Check the operator’s current trail, shuttle and cableway notices where applicable, and confirm the return connection before setting out. A broad landscape pin does not identify every trailhead or access point.
