About Zhang Fei Temple
Stone inscriptions and carved calligraphy give the halls a character beyond the figure of Zhang Fei, while Dujuan Pavilion recalls the poet Du Fu. The complex was relocated upstream for the Three Gorges reservoir, reusing historic components across from the new county town. Its present river-facing setting therefore tells a second story about conserving heritage amid large-scale landscape change.
What to look for
- Inscribed stones and carved calligraphy: the temple’s distinctive literary and artistic collection.
- Dujuan Pavilion: the complex’s connection with Du Fu alongside Zhang Fei commemoration.
