About Wuyishan Tianyou Peak
Tianyou Peak offers an elevated view across the bends of the Nine-Bend Stream in Wuyishan. The walking route connects steep rock scenery, historic inscriptions and viewpoints above the water, making it a different experience from looking up at the cliffs from a raft.
The peak lies near the sixth bend of the stream. Upper viewpoints bring the surrounding rock forms and the winding water into one landscape, while the lower route contains more enclosed rocky and wooded sections. Clouds can transform the view but can also hide it completely; a clear panorama is never guaranteed. The climb involves mountain walking and steps, so choose it for the route as well as the summit photograph. Combine it with another Wuyishan section only after accounting for the internal transfers and the effort of descending.
What to look for
- Views over the sixth bend of the stream
- Upper and lower mountain walking sections
