About Gulong Gorge

Flanked by cliff peaks with a height difference of about a kilometre, the canyon combines waterfalls, deep pools, unusual rocks and jungle, with facing cliffs, jutting peaks, cascading waterfalls, many shoals and rapid water, and primeval rainforest overhead. The scenic area and its surroundings preserve 3,000 hectares of subtropical primeval jungle, with forest cover of 95 per cent; the operator gives a negative-air-ion concentration of up to 10,000 per cubic centimetre. Qingxin District, which carries the titles China's Strong Tourism County and China's Hometown of Rafting, received 7.433 million domestic and international visitors in 2017.

In June 2018, Qingxin District's government, together with the Qingyuan sports and tourism bureaus, hosted the Guangdong (Qingyuan-Qingxin) Rafting Culture Festival and Rafting Competition at Gulong Gorge, drawing more than 30 teams from across Guangdong. On the same day, four attractions in the scenic area's glass canyon, the Suspended Glass Platform, the Glass Suspension Bridge, the Glass Sightseeing Combination and the Jungle Flying Fox, were certified by the World Records Association, together earning records for biggest, longest, widest and highest. The scenic area had by then invested 126 million yuan renovating its waterfall and adding the glass canyon and jungle flying fox attractions.
