About Chimelong Ocean Kingdom
Chimelong Ocean Kingdom (珠海长隆海洋王国) is a marine theme park on Fuxiang Bay (富祥湾) in Hengqin (横琴), Zhuhai. It belongs to the Zhuhai Chimelong International Ocean Resort (珠海长隆国际海洋度假区) and is run by the Chimelong Group.
The park was designed by PGAV Destinations. Work started on 28 November 2010 and was completed in November 2013; after a trial run from 28 January 2014, the park had its grand opening on 29 March 2014. Its aquarium tanks together hold 48.75 million litres of water, and the park has set five Guinness World Records.
Each of its eight themed zones stands for a part of the ocean. Visitors enter along Ocean Avenue (海洋大街), a shopping street under a large LED canopy showing the sea. Dolphin Cove (海豚湾) keeps bottlenose and spotted dolphins and Chinese white dolphins, with a dolphin theatre. The Polar zone (极地探险), the zone with the most to see, has beluga, polar bear and penguin houses and a water coaster. Mount Walrus (海象山) has walruses, a sea lion theatre, a pirate ship and a giant flume, and Hero Island (英雄岛) replaced an older zone in the summer of 2018 with bumper cars and shooting games. Hengqin Ocean (横琴海), the area around the central lake, is where the parade and firework shows take place.
The centrepiece is the Whale Shark Hall (鲸鲨馆) in the Ocean Wonders zone (海洋奇观). Its main tank holds 22,000 cubic metres of water, nearly half as much again as the 15,000 cubic metres of the Georgia Aquarium in the United States, the previous record holder, and it opened with whale sharks and manta rays among its species. A submarine ride runs inside the aquarium.

- Sea Bird Paradise, home to pelicans, white-naped cranes, white storks, herons and green sea turtles
- Journey of Lights, the evening parade, and the fireworks in Hengqin Ocean, the zone around the central lake
