About Darong Mountain
At Xiaolian Pond, grass, conifers and a small chapel create an intentionally landscaped scene, while Lianhua Waterfall provides a much rougher counterpart among the slopes. These are separate parts of a large mountain park, so choose the day’s operating transport and walking route before trying to combine them. The appeal lies in the transition between forest, water and the highland setting.
Darong Mountain (大容山) — known in antiquity as Yong (嵱) — is a mountain range at the junction of Rong County (容县), Xingye County (兴业县) and Guiping (桂平), within Beiliu (北流市), in Yulin, in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The surrounding national forest park was originally managed as a forestry farm by Yulin's Darong Mountain Forest Farm (大容山林场); it was approved by the Guangxi authorities as a provincial-level forest park in July 1996, and by the state as a national forest park (国家森林公园) in December 2003. The range's highest peak reaches 1275 meters, the highest point in Yulin.
