The Gulongshan gorge group lies at Xinling village in Hurun town, about thirty kilometres south-east of Jingxi in western Guangxi, at the western end of the Gulongshan water-source forest nature reserve and eighteen kilometres from the Vietnamese border. It runs 6.8 kilometres and is made up of three gorges whose underground rivers and caves connect through the hills.

About Gulongshan Gorges

The three gorges are Gulao, Xinling and Xinqiao, and the three underground-river caves within them are Yingbin, Baifu and Shuilian; the Gulong waterfall issues into Lianhua pool. The gorges are separated by hills at the surface but their subterranean rivers and caverns run into one another. Rivers in the gorges flow all year. Among the rare plants the city records here are tree ferns, flame trees and the stinging tree, along with a fern the page names lianzi guanyin zuojue, all of which it describes as facing extinction.

The city singles out the Xinqiao gorge: it holds a river cave more than 680 metres long with further caves stacked above it, where the underground stream and the surface river together make three watercourses running in different directions. The Xinqiao waterfall drops 118 metres. The autonomous region's culture and tourism department carried the site at grade 4A in Jingxi in its register of A-grade scenic areas compiled to the end of 2021, listing it there as the Gulongshan grand gorge scenic area.
