About Hongyan Village
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs' own route feature describes Hongyan as a national AAAA-grade tourist area combining landscape sightseeing, farming experience, lodging, catering, leisure and conference tourism, and credits the village with more than 1,500 years of inherited experience in growing yueshi persimmons, the crop its planting industry is built on. China Civilization Network, in an item supplied by the Guangxi civilisation office, recorded the village at 118 households and 452 people in 2022, with persimmon growing and rural tourism as its main sources of income, and put its planted persimmon orchards at more than 5,000 mu; the new village itself, it recorded, was built to the county's own 'five reforms, ten modernisations' standard.
The village has held twenty consecutive Gongcheng Yueshi Persimmon Festivals, with its main venue at Hongyan itself, according to the ministry's feature, and has been awarded the titles National Agricultural Tourism Demonstration Site, one of China's Ten Charming Villages, Chinese Ethnic-Minority Characteristic Village, China Village Calling Card and National Key Village for Rural Tourism; the civilisation-office item separately records a National Civilized Village title.
