About Nongla Scenic Area
The Ministry of Ecology and Environment's own nature-reserve directory lists Nongla Scenic Area as an autonomous-region-level forest-ecology reserve of 8,481 hectares, established on 19 June 2008 to protect a south-subtropical karst forest ecosystem. The Nongla Scenic Area tourism zone, covering about 2,555 mu, lies southeast of the county town; the Ministry of Culture and Tourism's own route guide describes it as an area of Nanning where limestone-hill vegetation and the ecological environment are at present relatively well preserved, with forest coverage of 95 percent and a high concentration of negative air ions, popularly styled a "natural oxygen bar".
The tourism zone is planned in three sections, a science-popularisation recreation area, an ecological-experience area and a blessing-culture area, and its built and open facilities include the Rocky Desertification Control Exhibition Hall, Jin'gang Putuo Temple, a visitor reception centre and Tianyun Shan.
