About Jianhe Hot Spring
The scenic area has six spring eyes with a combined daily flow of more than 5,000 tonnes, an outlet temperature above 50 degrees Celsius and a water temperature that stays between 38 and 53 degrees Celsius year-round without drying up in any season. The water carries more than 40 elements including sulphur, iron, potassium, calcium and radon, meeting the national standard for a quality radon-sulphur hot spring under China's Mineral Water Classification Method.
The Jianhe county gazetteer records a traditional description of bathers' restorative experience at the spring, and it has long carried the names 'Sacred Water of the Miao Territory' and 'Bathing Capital of the West'. The county tourism bureau describes it as one of Guizhou's three most celebrated springs, a nationally rare radon-sulphur hot spring, and China's only Miao-Dong-culture-themed hot spring.
