About Luoyi Village
The masonry gives walls and lanes a strong visual texture, while the Li Family Ancestral Hall provides a distinct communal building within the settlement. The visit is about the relationship between domestic construction and clan space.
Start with the public village lanes, observing the way individual stone blocks form the walls, then approach the ancestral hall where access is allowed. This is a living village rather than a wholly enclosed museum, so avoid treating homes as exhibition interiors. The stone-built surroundings remain interesting even during a brief exterior visit.
What to look for
- Volcanic-stone buildings give the village a distinctive dark masonry texture.
- The Li Family Ancestral Hall adds a communal focus within the residential lanes.
