About Shanyekou Scenic Area

Set in Dawuli's mountain country, the village is surrounded on three sides by hills. The scenic area's appeal comes from the combination of exposed colourful stone, forested slopes and mountain-valley scenery. Old pines, often singled out alongside the rocks in institutional descriptions, are a defining feature.

Tourism development began in 2007 and included a geological interpretation corridor and exhibition hall. Village guesthouses and other small businesses grew alongside the landscape attraction, giving the place a rural setting as well as a geological theme.
