About Xingtai Grand Canyon
Also called the Taihang Gorge Group, it includes Changzui Gorge, Liushui Gorge and Huangchao Gorge. Narrow, winding passages run between steep walls, with streams following the lower ground. Huangchao Gorge connects with smaller ravines, while Longtan Waterfall is another named feature of the wider scenic area.
The rock surfaces provide detail beyond the scale of the cliffs. The tourism bureau's guide identifies ripple-marked stone, layered rock and formations known as turtle-back stone. Secondary woodland fills parts of the mountain landscape, framing the exposed walls and the smaller stream valleys.
