About Moon Island

The island's outline gives it its name. The tourism island management committee describes Moon Island as comprising three sections—Yuetuo, Yaotuo and Xituo—within a larger coastal destination that also includes Puti Island and Xiangyun Island.

Its distinctive visitor landscape combines a sandy seashore with wooden holiday accommodation, waterside pavilions and hot-spring resort development. These features explain its beach-holiday focus; the wooded temples of Puti Island and the sporting beaches of Xiangyun belong to other islands in the group.

What to look for

  • The curved sandy shoreline facing the Bohai Sea
  • Wooden holiday buildings and waterside pavilions
