About Mangdang Mountain
At Bao’an Hill, the tombs of King Xiao and his queen turn the hillside into an extensive underground architecture of passages and chambers. The queen’s burial is particularly elaborate. Other finds from the tomb group are held in museums, so the strongest on-site experience is understanding the excavated spaces themselves.
What to look for
- King Xiao of Liang’s rock-cut tomb in Bao’an Hill.
- The queen’s tomb, with a complex arrangement of corridors and side chambers.
Location & getting there
Getting to Mangdang Mountain
Travel to Mangshan Town north of Yongcheng and specify the Han Liang royal-tombs sector of Mangdangshan. The tourism area includes several separate hills and commemorative zones, so the tomb entrance is a more useful destination than a generic mountain pin.
