About Wulanmaodu Grassland
Rounded grass-covered hills and the winding Jiuqu River are distinctive features of Wulan Maodu. Tourism extends across many villages, with yurts, horse culture, Mongolian dress and pastoral food traditions forming part of the region's cultural setting.
The grassland has also been shaped by active management. Local forestry officials describe reseeding, returning cropland to grass and balancing livestock numbers with pasture capacity over many years. This makes the scenery part of a working pastoral landscape with an ongoing history of restoration.
