About Fengcheng River

Wanghai Tower, Peach Garden, Mei Garden and the Old Street are separate destinations along the water. Together they bring the city's history, opera traditions, folk customs and trading culture into a compact urban waterfront landscape.

Wanghai Tower has Song-period origins, but the present building is a reconstruction from 2006. Its Song-style design uses a cross-shaped plan, surrounding galleries and a high stone platform, making the tower's silhouette a distinct landmark beside the moat.

What to look for

  • Wanghai Tower's galleries, roof profile and raised stone platform.
  • Peach Garden and Mei Garden along the river landscape.
  • The Old Street and its relationship to the historic moat.
