About Yuejiang Tower

Essays by Zhu Yuanzhang and Song Lian had made the proposed tower famous centuries before the present building was constructed in 1999–2001. Architect Du Shunbao's design gives the pavilion an L-shaped plan, with wings facing north and west towards the Yangtze. Tiered roofs, yellow and green glazed tiles, and painted brackets create its elaborate silhouette.

The elevated setting looks over the river and the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge. The site's Jinling Ming History Gallery, steles and stone carvings extend the visit beyond the panorama into stories associated with the Ming period.
