About Sihang Warehouse Battle Memorial
Sihang Warehouse Battle Memorial (四行仓库抗战纪念馆) occupies part of the historic warehouse beside Suzhou Creek in Shanghai's Jing'an District. It interprets the defence of the building during the late stages of the 1937 Battle of Shanghai.
The memorial's displays focus on the troops led by Xie Jinyuan and the events commonly associated with the Eight Hundred Heroes. Historical interpretation is presented through objects, reconstructed scenes, visual displays and film. The warehouse setting matters alongside the exhibition: it connects the story to a specific urban position by the creek.
